THE ROLE:

The Senior Director, Global Trade Policy and Government Relations will be responsible for development of AMD's engagement strategy with respect to domestic and international trade issues. This includes export controls, tariffs, strategic investments, and other regulatory requirements that impact our ability to sell products worldwide. As a member of AMD's government relations team, this member will work closely with our Global Trade Compliance team, the office of the General Counsel, senior business unit leads, and our corporate and social responsibility team. In this newly created role, this person will be developing and implementing AMD's overall strategy in this area.

THE PERSON:

Knowledge of the US export control regime regarding advanced semiconductors will be critical. The individual must be willing to travel domestically and internationally. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development and implementation of AMD's Global Trade Policy strategy.
  • Initially the role will focus on the US, with a particular emphasis on US Export Control rules and regulations.
  • Coordination with Trade Compliance on export restrictions
  • Collaboration with industry groups and like-minded companies on trade policy
  • Educating stakeholders within AMD on trade issues and concerns, including updates for the key executives
  • Identify, develop, and execute government partnerships that are aligned with company strategy and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key external stakeholders
  • Engage with regulatory authorities and industry groups, to advocate for favorable policy
  • Representing AMD in trade policy related venues
  • Developing materials for related briefings and meetings
  • Understanding of global trade policy landscape and how best to position the company
  • Close collaboration with all members of the global GR team

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience as a senior government relations specialist with a global company or applicable trade group
  • Experience with export controls policy formation, regulation and implementation
  • Deep network of relationships with regulators, partner agencies and critical stakeholders
  • A history of team management
  • Experience in a corporate setting

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree
