LMI is seeking a Data Science Manager to support a client located at Fort Belvoir, VA. Currently, all work is full-time telework with office visits as needed.
This data science manager will oversee a team of data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts to support advanced analytics projects for Army customers. Responsibilities include:
- Lead customer engagement and translate requirements into team priorities.
- Engage technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business processes, analytical requirements, key data elements, etc.
- Define and develop techniques to integrate, consolidate, and structure data for analytical use.
- Develop briefing packages to communicate complex ideas to non-technical customers.
- Travel: Minimal, less than 10%
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- DoD Secret clearance required. Must have, at a minimum, an active Interim Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of related work experience.
- Experience leading a team of advanced analytics professionals.
- Experience with Agile project management.
- Experience with big data and big data technologies.
- Experience with data visualizations and interactive dashboards.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to influence and align others and move toward a common vision or goal.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Graduate degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
Experience working with data analysis tools including object-oriented programming (Python, Java), computational analysis tools (R, MATLAB), and associated data science libraries (scikit-learn).
Experience with Palantir's Foundry platform.
Experience with US Army data.
