Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking an inpatient Registered Dietitian with NICU experience to join the innovative Clinical Nutrition Team.

Schedule 8:00 AM - 4:30PM (No weekends)

This individual would work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to promote wellness, maintain current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness through evidence-based practices. This position involves assessing nutritional status, formulating and participating in the implementation of nutrition care plans, including all aspects of nutrition support, counseling, and education; as well as teaching and supervising dietetic interns and students.

Requirements

  • Practicing as an expert in the application of the nutrition care process and theory within a specialty area.
  • Documents in the medical record using the Academyof Nutrition and Dietetics' standardized language as part of the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Performing nutrition assessments and identifying nutrition diagnoses; recommendingand implementing nutrition care plans based on evidence-based practice.
  • Identifies appropriate nutrition diagnosisand malnutrition criteria.
  • Identifies age-specific physical, psychologicaland cultural needs when carrying out patient activities.
  • Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinaryhealthcare team to promote wellness, maintenance of current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness.
  • Communicates with the nutritionplan with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Providing education at the appropriate level or learning mode for patients and the families of patients by documenting a learning assessment and an assessment in acute or chronic illness.
  • Communicates the nutritionplan readiness to learn, teaching methods, and response to the information provided.
  • Functioning as a nutrition resource for the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Receipting, teaching, and coordinating learning experiencesfor dietetic interns/students enrolled in the JHHS dietetic education programs.
  • Actively participating in a departmental, JHH or JHM work-groupor committee.
  • Participating in creating an environmentof trust, transparency, and growth.
  • Demonstrating personal management by meeting deadlines, prioritizing workload appropriately, demonstrating compliancewith the Johns Hopkins Core Values.
  • Supporting the needs of the department and hospital, to facilitate essential operations.
  • Completing other requirements per department-specific addendum.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commissionon Dietetic Registration
  • License as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of Maryland is required.
  • Requires 2 or more years of clinical experienceas a registered dietitian, including at least one year in a speciality area.
  • NICU Experience reqired.
