Job Description

We are seeking a Research Specialist to contribute to our cutting-edge research in molecular studies on tick-borne bacterial pathogens, with a primary focus on Ehrlichia species and Anaplasma species. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in molecular biology techniques, coupled with hands-on experience in cell culture methodologies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a wide range of molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to DNA extraction, PCR, Rt-PCR, gel electrophoresis, and quantitative PCR, cell culture, protein studies as well as in animal experiments
  • Cultivate and maintain cell cultures with precision and consistency.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of experiments under the guidance of senior scientists.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the research team, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail throughout all research activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of experimental results.
  • Accurately record and manage experimental data, maintaining detailed and organized laboratory notebooks.
  • Adhere strictly to established protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment.

The candidate should accurately record and manage experimental data, maintain detailed and organized laboratory notebooks. A bachelor's or master's degree in molecular biology, Biochemistry, or a related field is preferred.

Shift

Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in molecular biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
Conducting in vivo studies

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
Grade: GGS-007
