I. POSITION INFORMATION

Job Description Summary:
The GraphLab () in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The George Washington University is searching for a full-time Post-Doctoral Scientist that will report directly to the Principal Investigator (PI), and assist with research initiatives related to computer systems, cybersecurity, and machine learning.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designs and implements algorithms and systems to address analytical and security challenges
  • Contributes to the development of reports, publications in reputable conferences/journals, and proposals.
  • Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a Doctoral degree or comparable doctoral degree in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related area at time of appointment. A strong research record in one or more of areas: computer systems (operating systems, distributed systems, GPUs, hardware/software co-design, etc.), computer security (cloud, OS, mobile, web, etc.), and machine learning (deep learning, predictive analysis, anomaly detection, etc.).

Position Designation:
Essential: Employees who perform functions that have been deemed essential to maintaining business or academic operations. Employees are generally expected to work from home during an event and may be asked to physically report to work.
