Site Reliability Systems Administrator

The Challenge:

With so much relying on complex systems, a skilled systems administrator can be the difference that makes a project successful. We're looking for a systems administrator with a solid background in installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, triage, and hardening in both unique hardware and the AWS Cloud to help us develop sustainable business solutions across the intelligence community.

As a systems administrator on our project, you'll constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies. You'll learn how to design, deploy, and configure web infrastructure components. You'll analyze problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. You'll be able to combine your technical experience with communication skills as you turn metrics into information and communicate their meaning. This is an opportunity to gain experience in Cloud resources within AWS. We focus on growing as a team, so we'll share techniques, work through challenges, and develop new methodologies together. You Have:

  • Experience as a System Administrator using agency unique hardware and AWS Cloud

  • Experience managing Cloud resources within Amazon AWS

  • Experience with participating in evaluation and implementation of new and emerging technologies

  • Knowledge ofmaintaining, administering, and troubleshootingLinux digital system environments byleveraging expertise in Operating System (OS) level scripting and system logs, tools, and monitoring functions

  • Knowledge of networking protocols and architectures

  • Knowledge of application development and software

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Ability to obtain Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification within 6 months of hire

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with Atlassian tools, including JIRA, Confluence, and bitbucket

  • Experience with programming to develop Cloud management tools

  • Knowledge of Linux OS -level commands

  • Knowledge of configuration management tools and monitoring tools

  • Ability to manage firewall rules and security groups

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment

  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
