About the Position

Oxford Analytica is seeking to appoint an Analyst for the Europe desk. The successful candidate should be able to deliver authoritative analysis of political, economic, business and social developments in central-eastern Europe, including the Visegrad states, the Balkans and Greece, for publication in the Oxford Analytica Daily Brief, in a timely, relevant and actionable way to clients in government, NGOs, multinational corporations and the financial sector.

About You
You are intellectually curious, with a deep interest in the politics, economics and regional relations of eastern Europe and a strong familiarity with EU politics. You have a desire to work in tandem with our expert contributor network to deliver timely, high quality, reliable analysis to our blue-chip client base. You value working in a team where supporting each other is expected. You have exceptional writing and editing skills and can, under time pressure, produce written copy that is accessible, accurate and precise. You approach work with the attitude that every day presents an opportunity to learn more.
What To Expect In This Position
  • Commission articles for the firm's flagship publication, the Daily Brief, and its associated products, with the support of your colleagues and our Regional Heads (senior advisers)
  • Edit those submissions to meet Oxford Analytica's standards of clarity, accuracy and relevance so that they are suitable for publication in the Daily Brief and associated products
  • Write executive summaries and other short analysis for Oxford Analytica products
  • Manage and develop a network of expert external contributors and developing strong working relationships with regional academic specialists
  • Keep contributor spending within the specified budget
  • Attend daily and participate actively in our Morning Conference
  • Participate in conference calls on your region of expertise and represent Oxford Analytica in engagements with clients, external audiences and the broadcast media
  • Contribute regional expertise to the Analysis division's other products
  • Contribute regional expertise to the firm's other departments
  • Act with high levels of integrity and initiative and fosters a collaborative, respectful and professional working environment.
What Sets You Apart
  • A relevant MA or PhD (in politics, economics, international relations, or similar)
  • Extensive knowledge of the politics and economics of some eastern countries
  • Good familiarity with the rest of the region
  • 1+ years experience within a similar role
  • Excellent written English language skills, and ability to edit, for precision, clarity and nuance
  • Fluency in at least one regional language is strongly preferred
