The Manager of Program Finance manages program budgets and forecast activities for a business unit. Provides budget development, forecasting, and financial projection support for federal grants that are program wide. Manages the preparation, consolidation, invoicing, and reporting on expenditures. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline financial and spending processes and develops new procedures that support the business unit/department.


Responsibilities

  • Ensures effective management of all operational areas, including compliance with program policy, procedures, performance, and government regulations as needed.
  • Identifies, investigates, analyzes, and recommends alternative solutions to a wide range of operational, management, and administrative actions/problems.
  • Manages program/department assets and budgets.
  • Develops and manages a high performing team of people managers and individual contributors.
  • Analyzes and directs program resource planning, business requirements and needs assessments, including the operating system, software, and hardware, security, and core infrastructure services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of applicable experience
  • Demonstrated ability to provide long-distance leadership to include hiring, supervising, coaching, and motivating
  • Demonstrated ability in the areas of short and long-term financial planning, strategic planning, problem analysis and solution
  • Ability to develop grant proposals and budgets and monitor same for fiscal and program accountability
  • Knowledge about and ability to provide leadership for use of current business technology to carry out program goals

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
