Intern, Physical Security

The MWRA, Office of Emergency Preparedness and Security has one (1) opening for a summer internship to assist Physical Security staff with updates to site audits, inter access control systems and emergency procedures for emergency response.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Physical Security staff with maintaining readiness to respond to potential pandemic threats, terrorist threats and all physical security threats to the MWRA.
  • Assist with development, updates and recommendations of MWRA facility audits.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A current undergraduate student pursuing two years of college in an accredited degree program
  • A demonstrated interest in Physical Security or a closely related field
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Solid interpersonal skills with a strong focus on teamwork
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • A valid driver's license

  • Work Location: MWRA, 2 Griffin Way, Chelsea, MA
  • Work Schedule: Monday -Friday 8:00am 4:00pm
  • Internship duration: May - August
