Purpose of Position
NKU School of the Arts (SOTA) Marketing and Communications Coordinator contributes significantly to the school's visibility, reputation, and engagement with diverse audiences.

The purpose of this position is to fulfill several needs of the school and college including: managing marketing strategies and communications for the school, working with NKU's Marketing and Communication's office as well as the College of Arts and Sciences, contributing to the School's relationship with the community through website, social media, promotional materials, advancement efforts, and calendar of events to promote SOTA's programs, events, achievements, and initiatives.

The position leads strategic marketing initiatives, fosters effective communications, and implements comprehensive branding across SOTA's three programs of Theatre and Dance, Music, and Art and Design.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Developing Marketing Strategies: create and implement effective marketing plans, aligned with the School of the Arts (SOTA), College of Arts and Sciences, and NKU objectives, to enhance brand visibility, support enrollment, and generate revenue growth.

  • Content Creation and Management: oversee creation of compelling content to highlight SOTA's achievements, events, and stories on various platforms including website, newsletters, press releases, social media, promotional materials etc.

  • Media and Public Relations: cultivate and maintain relationships with university, local, and regional media outlets to secure press coverage.

  • Digital Marketing and Social Media Management: oversee SOTA's digital presence and advise stakeholders on best practices for effective strategies.

  • Event Promotion: collaborate with event organizers to develop a marketing schedule, promotional materials, outreach materials, and advertisements for SOTA events, exhibitions, performances, and lectures

  • Brand Management and Identity: uphold and enhance SOTA's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communication channels and materials. In consultation with School, College, and University stakeholders, implement brand guidelines for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience

  • Marketing, Advertising, Business, Public Relations, Communications, or Design experience

  • Design skills for publication, web, and social media platforms*

  • Background in fine and performing arts, with understanding of creative disciplines preferred.*

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills*

  • Ability to manage project timelines and deadlines*

  • Digital skills: proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with Adobe software preferred
