We are seeking a Security Specialist with experience in Program Protection and Risk Management to support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy (OUSD(P)) Security Support Services.

To be considered for this position, an active Top Secret Security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

The location of this work is the Pentagon, Reservation Arlington VA, Mark Center, Alexandria, VA and other Government sites, within the National Capital Region (NCR).

The OUSD(P)'s mission is to provide responsive, forward-thinking, and insightful policy advice and support to the Secretary of Defense, and the DoD, in alignment with national security objectives. Within OUSD(P), the Policy Security Directorate's mission is to provide comprehensive security support services in support of Policy's mission. As such, the Policy Security Directorate is committed to the pursuit of excellence, transparency, and accountability.

The Security Specialists' responsibility is to support all levels of OUSD(P) management and staff and other Department of Defense (DoD) and Executive Branch organizations. OUSD(P) action officers provide strategic planning and contribute to the development of Government policy for the DoD in their assigned foreign geographic or functional area of responsibility.

Required Skills / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or an additional 5 years of relevant experience with an associate degree or an additional 7 years of relevant experience with no degree.
  • Active top-secret security clearance, with SCI eligibility.
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in the security functional area. Strongly preferred: At least five (5) years combined OSD, Joint Staff, or Service-level security experience.
  • Completed security training from the CSA CDSE, within the past three (3) years.
  • Experience with handling classified correspondence, knowledge of Microsoft Office suite tools, and experience in writing, editing, and managing executive correspondence.
  • Demonstrated subject matter knowledge of DoD, intelligence community, and national-level personnel security policies and procedures.
