Human Resources is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining AARP enterprise-wide human resource strategies, initiatives, policies, procedures and related systems. This includes employee compensation and benefits, organization design and integration, talent acquisition, talent development and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of the recruitment social media strategy
  • Help create content schedules and engaging material for various platforms
  • Assist with the development and rollout of an HR Chatbot
  • Contribute to market data analysis, participating in annual salary surveys to ensure external competitiveness
  • Assist with Talent Acquisition requirements gathering and technology configuration
  • Develop process documentation for critical HR Compliance processes such as employment verification and I-9
  • Assist with interview scheduling
  • Contribute to the management of employee benefits programs, including health insurance and leave benefits
  • Participate and support HR projects, initiatives, and events
  • Conduct research on HR-related topics and present findings to HR team members

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university as rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or postdoctoral students and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship, or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
  • Have an eagerness to learn and contribute to various HR projects and initiatives
  • Prior HR or office experience (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
