Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and make a difference? We are seeking a creative, agile, data-oriented HR Business Partner (HRBP) who can thrive in a fast-paced global company. You will support globally dispersed customer groups from our McLean, Virginia location. As a critical, individual contributor you will partner with people leaders to operationalize and execute people strategies domestically and internationally for how we organize, staff, develop, motivate and retain our most valuable asset, our employees.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Build strong relationships with our people leaders, working with them to develop and execute domestic and international people solutions that support business objectives and challenges, navigating change management and optimizing the organizational design with the right people in the right roles.
  • Advise on people development strategies and initiatives to ensure retention and growth of high potential employees, promote rigor around goal setting and performance management and ongoing development for those employees who may not be performing at optimal levels.
  • Participate in the cultivation of the Intelsat culture to promote an exceptional people experience during the employee lifecycle. Recommend and assist with objective, compliant, employee actions and compensation recommendations.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders for globally dispersed employees (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Serve as the main point of contact for people leaders and employees for policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Serve as the interpretation and information highway between People Leaders and the HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, HRIS & HR Operations).
  • Support the design, roll out, and execution of new programs.

You should definitely have:

  • Minimum 7-years of experience in an HR business Partner and/or Generalist or related role with progressive responsibilities throughout tenure.
  • University degree (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience)
  • Deep knowledge and first-hand experience in the HR domain - from employee relations, employment/labor law, performance management, talent acquisition, etc.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (clear, simple, situational, multi-level, multi-cultural).
  • Experience supporting globally dispersed customer groups with the interpersonal skills to effectively interact with people of various cultural backgrounds.
  • A focus on customer service, while being self-reliant, resourceful, and pragmatic.
  • Excellent planning, project management, coordination, and analysis capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Systems agility.

But it would be nice if you had:

  • Degree in Human Resources, or Business
  • SHRM or HRCI certification
