Job Summary

We're looking for highly responsible, fun and energetic individuals to work during summer from the months of June to August as Camp Instructors at various outdoor park locations throughout Loudoun County. As a Camp Instructor you will employ your unique skills to plan, organize and facilitate fun and enriching camp activities such as environmental education, sports, historical programs, archery, fishing, STEM and hiking.

Successful candidates will have positive attitude, good communication skills with children and parents/guardians, and self-motivation to supervise and lead children in activities.

We are currently hiring for Camp Instructor's at the following locations:

  • Claude Moore Park, Sterling, VA
  • Franklin Park, Purcellville, VA
  • Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park, Aldie VA
  • May include additional location in Leesburg, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Prioritize the health, safety, and supervision of children.
  • Set up, maintain, and take down areas of events and activities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with both the participants and their parents/guardians.
  • Promote and execute quality service standards for all our external and internal customers.
  • Developing programs with modifications for beginning to advanced levels, abilities, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Promoting a professional cross-team environment and participating in staff meetings/events.
  • Positions are scheduled from the month of June 2024 to August 2024.
  • Workdays are Monday-Friday with flexible hours between 7:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Consistent Scheduling and/or "As-Needed" Scheduling is available and varies by location.

Include all volunteer work and experiences supervising children, developing programs and/or curriculums on your application.
Minimum Qualifications

Completion of 8th grade.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six (6) months of programmatic experience with supervising children.
  • Experience working with youth in structured environment
  • Must be able to work outside while keeping up with the fast-paced nature of camp
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred.
  • First Aid (Infant through Adult)/CPR certifications.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

  • Criminal and credit background checks.
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be physically able to keep up with participants and lift 75 pounds.
