Job Description

The Role: As a pivotal member of the executive team, the Vice President & General Manager of Public Sector Sales spearheads the formulation and execution of comprehensive sales plans and strategies to attain annual quotas and revenue benchmarks for the company's diverse range of business and artificial intelligence products and services. The VP of Sales will serve as a conduit for crucial market intelligence gathered from customer interactions, prospects, and industry stakeholders across the federal civilian, defense, intelligence, and SLED territories. Leading sales teams, the VP will strategically drive pipeline and revenue growth and amplify margins within the public sector region.

Your Focus:

  • Developing Sales Strategy: Craft and articulate a cohesive sales strategy tailored for multiple public sector market segments across diverse channels.
  • Forecasting and Achieving Targets: Take charge of forecasting and meeting quarterly targets, devising sales plans, structuring quotas, and delineating customer segmentation.
  • Aligning with Corporate Strategy: Effectively communicate public sector strategy, provide strategic direction, and eliminate barriers to empower the sales force to maximize revenue generation in the public sector business
  • Ensuring Sales Automation Utilization: Oversee and ensure the consistent and accurate utilization of sales automation tools and utilities.
  • Strategic Contribution: Play a pivotal role on the senior management team, contributing significantly to shaping and implementing the overarching public sector strategy.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide guidance and inspirational leadership to invigorate the public sector sales organization, fostering enthusiasm and a customer-centric approach.
  • Enhancing Team Performance: Elevate team performance through mentorship and training, employing effective strategies such as cadence calls to refine sales processes.
  • Talent Acquisition and Retention: Identify, attract, nurture, and retain top-tier sales talent, fostering a culture of motivation, innovation, and customer focus.
Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven success as VP of Sales within a multi-million-dollar, multi-divisional global tech company.
  • Experience establishing a world-class sales organization in companies with revenues exceeding $500 million, preferably in Business Intelligence.
  • Demonstrated capability in formulating sales strategies facilitating rapid growth.
  • Recognized as an "Industry Leader" with a passion and leadership acumen driving performance and revenue.
  • Proficiency in forging key partnerships with public sector accounts.
  • Understanding of FedRAMP and Facility Clearance processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and alliances with OEMs, strategic partners, systems integrators, and service companies while understanding end-user requirements.
  • Alignment with and promotion of MicroStrategy culture and values.
  • Strong leadership skills, blending strategic vision with tactical prowess.
  • Resilience and adeptness at steering organizational change agendas.
  • Proven track record overcoming barriers within globally prominent, entrepreneurial organizations.
