Payroll Administrator – Sr.

Position Overview:
Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking an experienced and reliable Payroll Administrator to join our growing team!

The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing the semi-monthly payroll and coordinating efforts between Payroll and Human Resources to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data, and financial information related to payroll. Applicants must have a solid knowledge of payroll processes, compliance, and tax procedures.
This role requires an extensive knowledge of multi-state & SCA payroll and time reporting for Federal government contracts. Requires close interaction and involvement with project managers, supervisors, and employees for tracking and time recording.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage semi-monthly payroll process.
  • Manage timesheet process, corrections, and audit & monitor submission of timesheets to ensure completion and accuracy of approved timesheets and missing timesheet reports.
  • Manage payroll changes to include special payroll payments allowances, and deductions (garnishments, benefits, etc.)
  • Manage administration of new hires and terminations related to payroll.
  • Manage file imports and exports from/to timekeeping, payroll, and accounting systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain employee records in the financial system for changes, such as supervisor reporting structures and salary changes, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Work closely with Human Resources regarding inquiries, issues, and procedures affecting payroll and HR.
  • Manage and monitor proper state registrations for payroll taxes and timely filing and payment of all federal, state, and local payroll taxes; research and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Process accurate and timely third-party benefits (TPSP) and year-end reporting.
  • Ensure tax entities are filed appropriately.
  • Compiling various internal management reports and other reports as required for audits and special requests.
  • Manage SCA Health Benefits and communications.
  • Managing other compliances as required relating to employees’ pay.
 
Job Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus 7-10 years of payroll experience
  • CPP preferred Certified Payroll Professional
 
Additional Skills:
Required Knowledge/Experience:
  • Excellent problem-solving/judgment skills, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Analytical skills, including research, ability to interpret data, and ability to analyze information.
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Proven knowledge of standard payroll concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
