About the Role:

On a day-to-day basis, you will use your consultative talent acquisition skills and partner with hiring teams, Science Operations, and People & Culture teams (HRBPs, Benefits & Compensation, HRIS, and Learning & OD) to help attract and hire outstanding candidates to HHMI and help move science forward.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the full cycle recruitment efforts for scientific laboratories and operations offices across the US: facilitate recruitment planning meetings with hiring teams, draft engaging job postings, build customized search strategies, post job advertisements in Workday and external websites, review incoming resumes, pre-screen candidates, assist through the interview and offer stage, and conduct professional reference checks.

  • Independently run your workload and requisitions, with flexibility to support differing teams and clients as business needs fluctuate.

  • Nurture authentic relationships with all parties involved in the recruitment process.

  • Emphasize the candidate experience by providing timely communication and follow-up with a focus on sharing HHMI's mission, culture, and employment value proposition.

  • Source active and passive candidates through networking and thinking creatively about ways to find qualified and diverse talent.

  • Develop behavioral interview support documents and guide interviewers on how to conduct an inclusive and structured interview process.

  • Use your market expertise to develop compelling job offers in partnership with the HR Business Partner, Science Operations Manager, and Compensation Partner, in adherence to HHMI's compensation philosophy.

  • Drive continuous improvement process using measurement tools such as scorecards, data analytics, as well as client/candidate feedback.

  • Represent HHMI at networking and industry events, job fairs, conferences, etc.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Biology, or a similar field required or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  • Four to six years of prior full lifecycle recruiting - with an expert-level understanding of various recruitment sources such as networking, sourcing, attending career fairs, mining internal talent pools, and cultivating employee referrals.

  • Enthusiasm for relationship-focused recruitment and a strong appetite for learning HHMI scientific programs and job families.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, organize, and prioritize 15-20 job requisitions in a fast-paced environment.

  • PHR/SPHR and/or AIRS certification preferred.

  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems (e.g.,Workday is preferred).

  • Experience using structured interviews and competency-based behavioral questions is preferred.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

  • Ability to travel within the United States to attend regional meetings, career fairs, and visit scientific laboratories (10%).

Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

Compensation Range

$88,864.00 (minimum) - $111,080.00 (midpoint) - $144,404.00 (maximum)

Pay Type:

Annual

HHMI's salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
