Job Description

Position Objective:

Contributes to the provision of high-quality, cost effective health care through collaboration with other health care team members. Emphasis on coordinating the daily activities of the CSP department to meet the needs of the OR.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Conducts rounds on a daily basis in CSP department to proactively identify and resolve instrumentation and supply issues, which may have a negative impact on patient care and surgeon satisfaction. Resupply of Prep and Pack, Decontamination and Scope room supplies necessary for processing and sterilization of trays and instruments. Assists with the turnover of high priority instruments between cases, as needed, and coordinates with Ancillary departments for tray needs and service in CSP.
  2. Coordinates with Surgical Services Team Leads on new instrument request from Surgeons. Working with instrument vendors to locate requested instruments or trays.
  3. Identifies, documents and reports instrumentation shortages from rounds, to CSP Leadership for replenishment/reordering. Run daily report to identify missing instruments to relocate/replace them. Corrects tray errors, documents the errors and reports to CSP Leadership, and manages tray count sheets in microsystem -SPM.
  4. Coordinates with Stryker Repairs for instrument and scope repairs. Facilitates the biannual Preventative Maintenance on all of Stryker's Power equipment.
  5. Manages the implant inventory to ensure correct par levels are maintained; reconciles the inventory by determining what was purchased versus what was used, as it relates to implant inventory, and manages the decrementing and re-ordering of the implants/supplies, working with vendors as needed to maintain implant par levels. Oversees all activities relating to storage and movement of implants within the CS department as well as oversees CSP Tray Inventory ( implant screws, wires and plates)

Educational/Experience Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent

Previous experience as a CSP Tech or equivalent

Required License/Certifications:

CICS required

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands -

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
