St. Jude is seeking a seasoned bioinformatics research scientist to lead and participate in the development of multiple scientific products and initiatives on the St. Jude Cloud project. This position will work on a wide array of scientific problems applicable to large-scale pediatric cancer data sharing. Concretely, this role will serve as the domain expert working on at least one of our product development teams building applications within the St. Jude Cloud ecosystem, including the large-scale data sharing application, Genomics Platform (; the pediatric cancer reference knowledgebase, PeCan (); and the genomic and epigenomic visualization platform, Visualization Community (). Cross-ecosystem projects, such as developing a comprehensive diagnosis ontology used across St. Jude Cloud applications and collecting/harmonizing the catalog of scientific information shared through St. Jude Cloud will be a major focus. Finally, this position will have a specific emphasis on developing and publishing bioinformatics workflows that are (a) used to harmonize data published on St. Jude Cloud and (b) are available for external users of St. Jude Cloud.

This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
