We are seeking an experienced and dedicated fully remote Health and Safety Manager to join our dynamic Corporate Health and Safety team.

What you will do:

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for Leading and managing health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and fostering a culture of safety within our organization. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of health and safety initiatives.
  • Cultivate a strong safety culture within the organization, emphasizing the importance of safety in all aspects of work.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local regulations related to health and safety, with a particular focus on USACE EM 385-1-1 and OSHA construction requirements.
  • Develop, update, and implement comprehensive health and safety plans or accident prevention plans tailored to the specific needs of environmental engineering and remediation projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety plans into project execution strategies.
  • Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety procedures, hazard identification, and emergency response protocols.
  • Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings to promote continuous improvement in safety awareness.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, or near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely safety reports as required.

This role requires up to 25 % short stay travel is required - conducting site visits, training, and audits of project sites. Travel may include all 50 states and territories. International travel is unlikely. This position will be ideally located in or around Seattle, Sacramento, Anchorage or Honolulu, but could be fully remote for the right candidate.

What you will need:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or other relevant certifications preferred. We will support qualified candidates in the pursuit of these qualifications.
  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience in health and safety management, with a focus on OSHA construction safety and USACE EM 385-1-1 compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental engineering and remediation industry practices.
  • Fluency in contract requirements in both government (federal, state, local) and private sector contracting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
