Job Description

The emergency department at Inova Loudoun is looking for an experience nurse to join their team as a Unit Supervisor.

The Inova Virts Miller Family Emergency and Trauma Center is a full service emergency department for adults at Inova Loudoun Hospital. It is a Joint Commission-certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center and an integral part of the trauma program at Inova Loudoun Hospital - Loudoun County's only designated trauma center.

Schedule: 3 12-hour night shifts per week. 7PM-7AM, weekend rotations

As a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor, you will serve as a front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. To help achieve our mission, you will embrace, use and understand the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supporting unit based shared governance and decentralized decision making structures and processes is of vital importance. Acting as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility is required. Minimum Requirements

  • At least one year of Registered Nurse Clinical experience. More than 2 years of Registered Nurse Clinical Experience in an ED preferred.
  • BSN, MSN or ADN required. If RN has an ADN, must complete BSN within 12 months of state date.
  • Previous leadership courses preferred
  • American Heart Association BLS required. Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 1 year of hire Strongly prefer current ACLS and PALS
  • Licensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization; can serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit.
