Job Description
Supports the sales team to manage and grow assigned accounts in line
with the organizational strategy, goals, policies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximizing the impact of transactional sales through effective probing and lead qualification.

  • Providing a personalized service and building relationships with customers.

  • Tracking competitor information and market trends and suggesting required action.

  • Formulating and managing service contracts with customers.

  • Communicating service or rate changes, notable trends, policies, and other relevant information to assigned accounts.

  • Assisting with processing price quotes and rate negotiations.

  • Researching and analyzing competitive and industry trends.

  • Ensuring customer relationship management tools are updated (Salesforce.com) on time and are of excellent quality.

  • Register and track all pricing opportunities, rate requests, leads in applicable systems

  • Assisting with reporting and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Timely processing of pricing & rate quote requests.


Position Specifications:
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Experience with Transportation and Logistics, Supply Chain Logistics, Business Administration or comparable concentrations preferred.

Technical Skills and Competencies Required

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, MS Teams, Power BI, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); web-based software; and customer relationship management tools, such as Salesforce.com.

  • General knowledge of shipping industry and Federal Government structure.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Flexible team player able to adapt to dynamic business needs.

  • Can work independently with little supervision.

  • Has analytical mind able to deliver problem-solving solutions.

  • Freight forwarding and/or account management experience a plus.

  • Strong personal integrity and accountability a must.
