Job Description

As a Member of the Technical Staff supporting the HIPAA EDI and Product Line Support effort, this candidate shall:

  • Coordinate activities and maintain artifacts associated with the self-management of the program technical portfolio in accordance to established SOPs, VA and OIT guidelines.
  • Aid the business Product Owners and Agile teams by attending and facilitating meetings related to strategy, design, development and business-level oversight between eBusiness and Revenue Operations (RO) Systems Engineering project teams, trading partners, and other VHA teams to support eBusiness/RO Systems Engineering.
  • Provide written and oral briefings and status updates around metrics and data related to the VA health care revenue operation.
  • Collect and document information in JIRA Project Management Software needed to perform testing, training, implementation of business process solutions related to VHA healthcare HIPAA transactions and revenue cycle process solutions in accordance with Agile Safe methodology.
  • Make informed recommendations and seek concurrence on issues needing leadership decision.
  • Develop user and functional specifications for enhancements to business application processes, application interfaces and reporting requirements.
  • Use Microsoft Project (specifically) to plan activities and tasks used to control project execution. Ability to use Jira and other Agile, SAFE Agile software development tools necessary.

When joining this effort, this candidate will become a member of the Veterans Health Administration Office of Finance eBusiness Solutions team. VHA Office of Finance Revenue Operations; the eBusiness Solutions team oversees EDI revenue functions that allow VA to collect revenue from private health insurance carriers where collected funds go back to VA medical facilities.

Job Description:

FedGeek is seeking a Senior Project Leader to manage requirements analysis and testing of multiple integrated software product deliveries and performance reporting. The candidate will have an ability monitor software development planning and implementations and analyze integrated team work products such as requirements and testing documentation to ensure traceability with an Agile backlog of user needs. This position will require knowledge of and exposure to VHA health care revenue operations or commercial health care revenue experience. Knowledge VA's VistA billing and accounts receivable system and MUMPS code is a plus.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Business Administration.
  • 10 years of Government or private sector experience in managing, directing, and implementing projects. Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, experience in managing projects, contracts, funds, and resources.
  • Ability to work across project teams to develop cross-cutting strategies for management, oversight and planning
  • Ability to use Agile management tools like Jira to gather necessary data to inform software life cycle development recommendations.
  • Understanding of HIPAA EDI eligibility, claims, pharmacy, and payment transactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Understanding of VA's VistA billing and accounts receivable system.
  • Knowledge of MUMPs programming language
  • Experience in using tools like MS Project, and MS Office to plan projects, and develop and present status reports
  • Knowledge of the Oracle-Cerner EHRM

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
