Elevate your career as a Senior Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) Network Engineer SME within the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Join a dynamic team leading the charge in modernizing the Joint Force Headquarters - Department of Defense Information Network (JFHQ DoDIN) security model. As a seasoned Information Technology Consultant, your role will be pivotal in providing subject matter expertise, shaping ZTA strategies, and implementing robust network solutions to fortify key mission systems against cyber threats.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Offer specialized technical expertise as a ZTA Network Engineer SME, contributing to the granular security of the DoDIN.
  • Lead and coordinate working groups to develop comprehensive ZTA strategies, implementation plans, and reference architectures.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on orchestrator solutions, ensuring scalability to protect both existing and new systems onboarded into the architecture.
  • Conduct technical evaluations, offering insights into ZTA capabilities and ensuring alignment with DISA ZTA Strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external organizations, managing technical feasibility and maintaining detailed project plans.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Extensive knowledge of ZTA principles, network design, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Proficiency in implementing ZTA reference architectures, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • In-depth understanding of identity, authorization, and segmentation capabilities within the ZTA framework.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting technical evaluations and maintaining ZTA project documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders, conduct technical meetings, and foster collaborative relationships.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in information technology consulting, with a focus on ZTA and secure network engineering.
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other relevant certifications.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance is mandatory.
