LMI is seeking an Engineering and Applied Physics Director, reporting to the VP of Applied Systems and Technology (AS&T), to support our client delivery and growth, concentrating on accelerating innovation and enhancing LMI's reputation in AS&T's Engineering and Applied Physics domains. This includes areas such as Applied Physics Modeling and Simulation, Aerospace Platforms and Engineering, and Mission and Technology Services. The Engineering and Applied Physics Practice Area Director will be responsible with formulating a strategy for the Engineering and Applied Physics Practice Area that is coherent with AS&T's strategic goals for capability maturation, business development, and talent management. This position can be supported remotely but candidate must have ability to travel to client sites and/or LMI Headquarters as needed.

The Engineering and Applied Physics Director should have experience in one or more of the following topical areas: phenomenology and physics-based modeling, finite element analysis, modeling and simulation, robotics and automation hardware, advanced materials and manufacturing, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and electrodynamics, satellite systems and architectures, orbit dynamics and structural mechanics, UAS and cUAS mission support and architecture, electrical and mechanical engineering, technology horizon scanning, strategic technology advisement and assessments, research, development, test and evaluation, guidance development and evaluations.

The Director will oversee and provide support to the team of professionals within the Engineering and Applied Physics domain, driving internal expertise, improving current client support, and discovering new avenues to broaden LMI's services to clients. The role involves the development and codification of the Engineering and Applied Physics Practice Area in alignment with LMI's strategic goals. Additional responsibilities include working internally and externally to establish LMI as a thought leader and trusted agent who can leverage its deep customer and domain knowledge to drive effective digital transformation.
