Job Description
Lead crisis management and business continuity initiatives, and coordinate with disaster recovery, emergency management, facilities, and other key stakeholders to administer the organizational resilience program for the institution. Conduct assessments including business impact analyses, develop response and recovery plans, coordinate various types of continuity strategies, conduct tests and exercises, develop trainings and education for staff, and maintain a multi-disciplinary resilience management effort across the institution. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare reports for use by leadership and facilitate various resilience initiatives consistent with the broader goals and objectives of the institution's strategic plan.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Further develop and maintain the organizational resilience program to ensure the institution can effectively respond to disruptions, and the amount of loss and disruptions can be minimized.
  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain continuity and recovery strategies across the institution, with consideration for key interdependencies that can drive resilience.
  • Support the development and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and work instructions to recover critical business applications and services, as well as the institution's emergency operations plan.
  • Define overall objectives, scope, plans, resource planning and budgeting, metrics for tracking progress while ensuring alignment with customer needs.
  • Provide strategic insights to senior leadership around program roadmap from a program management lens in relation to overall departmental/ institutional objectives.
  • Collaborate with key leaders in internal functions and partner/vendor organizations to optimize organizational outcomes.
  • Provide input into overall budget and variance management for department-wide programs.
  • Build systemic approaches around executive sponsor engagement and governance across programs.
  • Direct and approve establishment of frameworks/guidelines for the use of contractors and professional service providers and determines their use across programs.
  • Drive scalable process improvement initiatives that bring significant benefit to program teams at department level.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Degree focus in resilience-related field preferred (E.g., Emergency Management).
  • Proof of DNV education and/or training preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in a business-facing Program Management role, with substantial consulting leadership & program implementation experience.
  • Two (2) years work experience in a clinical setting.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory/managerial experience required.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:

  • None
  • Related certification is preferred (CBCP, CBCI, CEM, etc.)

Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Background in organizational resilience planning: Exhibits thorough knowledge and understanding of business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis and emergency management planning techniques, best practices and standards, tools, and technologies. Exhibits experience in designing, developing, maintaining, exercising and/or testing of various types of response plans.
  • Exhibits understanding of emergency management and resilience standards and regulations (e.g., DNV, Joint Commission, CMS, ISO, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience managing/ overseeing/ leading multiple/large/complex program(s) keeping the impact on/needs of customer in mind.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, prioritizing of programs and defining approaches for implementation.
  • Significant experience in risk management, issue resolution, resource management, and financial tracking across multiple programs.
  • Significant experience in operational management, and budget planning & management through multiple diverse program teams
  • Experience building systems/tools/processes to leverage program synergies and drive continuous improvement in quality and consistency of programs.
  • Experience managing program managers/ teams with direct reporting.
  • Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.
  • Significant experience leading large/complex scale events on behalf of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience customizing events based on strategic intent.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and negotiating with internal stakeholders, to achieve the event management goals.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $114,400 - $216,320 per year for the role of Dir - Organizational Resilience Program.
