Job Description Summary: | In the Department of Biological Sciences, challenging science courses are just one part of a holistic approach to learning. Our curriculum integrates traditional study with individual mentorship in the lab and service learning and sustainable projects in the community, for a truly interdisciplinary experience. The Postdoctoral Associate will participate in studies that use C. elegans to investigate the interactions between host intestinal microbiomes and immune responses to viral (Orsay virus) and fungal (microsporidia) pathogens. The successful applicant will gain expertise in various techniques, including gene expression analysis, gene editing, infection assays, fluorescence in situ hybridization, and microscopy, as part of their investigation into intestinal innate immunity. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative environment that includes researchers at all levels working together towards common research goals. Duties:
