We are seeking a Software Tester who can help us release and maintain a variety of COTS and custom web applications. We need you to efficiently combine manual and automated testing and to enhance our software evaluation capabilities. You will work with in a team seeking to deliver and maintain quality software supporting the APL mission.

As a Software Test Automation Engineer, you will ...

  • Test web-based applications manually and with automated test tools.

  • Craft automated tests for various web-based applications.

  • Build, run and analyze software performance tests using LoadRunner or JMeter or similar product.

  • Explore opportunities to apply artificial intelligence to testing.


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Have 3+ years of experience testing software applications.
  • Have 3+ years of experience with modern test automation tools.
  • Can work efficiently as part of a team with developers, server administrators and management.
  • Effectively organize and present information.
  • Are superb at communication and collaboration, both with the customer and your team.
  • Have creative problem solving and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Are able to create quality documentation, presentations and testcases.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Software testing certification (ISTQB/ASTQB, CAST, BCS, TMMi, Six Sigma CSQE, etc.).
  • Experience with open-source automation tools including Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin.
  • Experience crafting and analyzing performance/load tests.
  • Experience with test management tools, defect tracking tools, SQL and NoSQL, Jenkins, Maven.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices and DevSecOps.
