Job Description

We invite applications for a board-certified Physical Medicine / PM&R Physician or Sports Medicine Physician to lead and treat patients in our Multidisciplinary Spine Center at our Lanham and Gaithersburg Medical Centers.

In collaboration with the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States, we provide high-quality, patient-centered health care. MAPMG physicians are salaried, without the pressures of alternative payment models or fee-for-services. Our members have easy access to specialists and medical records, thus allowing you to treat the whole patient.

What You Can Expect:

  • Lead a team of physical therapists and nurse navigators in treating and managing acute low back pain and common spine conditions in a growing multidisciplinary spine program
  • Provide care for patients in your community
  • Staff clinical sessions at medical centers during clinic hours of 8am-5pm
  • No weekend work, no call schedule, no rotations
  • Document visit notes and post-visit summaries in EPIC EMR
  • Treat patients in clinic via in-person, video and phone appointments

    Minimum Requirements:

    • MD or DO
    • Board Certified or Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation or in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with completed Sports Medicine Fellowship training
    • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and an interest in helping to grow a clinical program
    • Prior experience or clinical interest in back pain and common spine conditions is required
    • Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia
    • Work visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants
