Staff RN - PICU H8B (Nights)

Overview

Night Shift: (7:00pm-7:30am).

36 hours per week available (0.9 FTE).

Every other weekend required and Holiday rotation.

Benefits Eligible.

Position starts at $34.00 an hour plus shift and weekend differentials. Pay to commensurate with experience.

$2.00/hr pay increase upon successful completion of department orientation.

**$10,000 sign on bonus (2 year commitment) for Nurses with one year ICU experience**

H8B PICU Fast Facts:

-H8B is a 24-bed pediatric intensive care unit.

-Nurse to patient ratio is 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on the acuity and needs of the patient.

-H8B is a multidisciplinary PICU that provides care for infants, children, adolescents and adults who become critically ill. We treat patients with severe illnesses including respiratory, endocrine, neurological and multi-system conditions such as sepsis and shock, as well as illnesses related to genetic/congenital anomalies and extensive surgeries.

-H8B also provides care to patients who participate in research studies conducted by the NCH research institute including gene therapy.

-We are one team of caregivers working together with the family to provide the best possible care to our patients and families with bedside rounds and reports to include the entire health care team and family.

Responsibilities
    Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs. Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.
  • Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Engages in the workplace community by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
  • Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications

Education:

ADN accepted; BSN preferred

Licensure:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

Certifications:

Current CPR certification required (upon hire). Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to independently lift up to 35 lbs.
