The Nurse Manager of the Harris Urgent Care Center is responsible for the organization, management, and direction of the center, including nursing and ancillary personnel.
The Nurse Manager assumes responsibility for the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of care for patients in the Urgent Care Center. Efforts are focused on providing appropriate structures to support safe care, quality improvement activities to ensure high quality care and continuous improvement processes to ensure cost containment/reduction, encouraging staff development and insuring that staff competence is maintained at an acceptable level.
In collaboration with Corporate Compliance, Risk Management and others deemed necessary, the Practice Manager investigates all incidents, accidents, complaints, and grievances.The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's / area's / department's policies and procedures.
The Nurse Manager may perform a variety of tasks for the patients and providers including but not limited to triaging patients, taking patient vital signs, obtaining medical information, charting, preparing exam rooms and other duties as assigned.
