As the Enterprise Data Manager for the Data Analytics Group at AARP, you will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams and customers to gather business requirements and translate into technical specifications to ultimately meet the Clients' marketing, analytical or reporting needs. Discovering the true requirements underlying feature requests and recommending alternative technical approaches that help in the management of large cloud-based information systems. Partnering with cross-functional technical teams to launch projects, enterprise initiatives and provide ongoing technical support. Collaborating with management to identify opportunities to streamline technology processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department. In addition, you will build the architecture for data processing design with an understanding of information systems, building data, and performant cloud-based systems.


Responsibilities

  • Establishes a technical roadmap for the platform and/or capability strategy and lifecycle that considers value-based outcomes, costs to maintain, supportability, and performance.
  • Ensures sound integration, data, security, and business architecture design throughout all stages within the platform and/or capability lifecycle.
  • Provides rapid delivery and development of technical solutions that align with business and/or platform desired outcomes.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to platform or capability systems, solutions, and services.
  • Innovates and drives continuous improvements of implementation methodology and technical service offerings based on customer/employee experiences or other enterprise objectives/outcomes.
  • Participates in a Community of Interest for engineers across all capability and platform teams to share information and strengthen understanding of business needs and technology-based business solutions.
  • Develops and maintains deep technical knowledge and expertise related to domain area systems, solutions, services, and applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years related experience in a technical business environment focusing on Information Management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Hands-on technology background dealing with complex application performance and information infrastructure issues
  • Development experience with database or application integration technology
  • Proficient in SQL, Databricks/Python or equivalent data management tools
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent communication skills including oral and written presentation skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to focus resources on meeting commitments to clients
  • Previous experience in managing outside large relationships with vendors/providers preferred
  • Demonstrated successful performance in vendor management, and developing and managing all aspects of infrastructure development that significantly impacts business results preferred

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
