Overview

Outreach Medical Technician - Care Mobile (CDL License Requirement)

Responsible to provide operational, clerical and clinical support to the Primary Care Mobile Care Center and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. Demonstrates competence defined (*) in Outreach Medical Technician responsibilities in providing age-appropriate care and service to patients from the age of birth to 21 years, and selected adults.

Responsibilities
    Drive the mobile care unit from designated parking location to site (homeless shelter, school, community site) and return mobile care unit back to designated parking spot at end of day
  • Assist mobile care unit team with office duties while onsite
  • Maintains mobile care unit including but not limited to stocking and inventory, equipment, quality control, cleanliness, and maintenance. Contacts leadership when equipment needs repair.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Education/Certifications:

  1. High school Diploma
  2. Up to one-year previous patient care experience.
  3. Must possess Valid Ohio Driver's License Drivers Insurance coverage consistent with hospital requirement and good driving record.
  4. Must possess a valid Ohio Commercial Driver License (CDL), class B, with air brake endorsement within 90 days of hire.
  5. Must possess a valid medical certificate that is updated every two years at a minimum.

Skills & Abilities

  1. Computer familiarity and literacy with general data entry. Will train for specific computer programs.
  2. Effective use and understanding of verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Excellent customer service skills.
  4. Registration/Scheduling experience preferred.
  5. Must be able to work as part of a team with minimal direct supervision
  6. Must be culturally sensitive to all ethnic groups of all economical status.
  7. Must maintain current BLS Healthcare provider or Heart Saver certification.
  8. Demonstrate ability to work effectively with diverse populations

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty.
