Product Test Technician

Lays out, builds, tests, and modifies developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems. Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with engineers. Assembles experimental circuitry. Develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
  • Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Assembles experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype models in collaboration with engineers.
  • Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions.
  • Reviews and suggests improvements to engineers or engineer associates.
  • Sets up complex test apparatus, test equipment and/ or circuitry to conduct functional, operational and environmental tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models
  • Uses oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and other testing devices.
  • Analyzes and interprets test data.
  • Completes test acceptance/ failure reports.
  • Checks functioning of newly installed test equipment.
  • Performs visual/ mechanical inspections of electronic assemblies to uncover problems.
  • Completes reports on findings.
  • Adjusts, calibrates, and aligns production or prototype assemblies to obtain optimal performance in accordance with documented performance levels.
  • Calibrates testing equipment and performs minor repairs, such as soldering connections or changing transistors.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to lower level technicians.
  • Checks work in progress to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other duties as directed

Skills:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of eduction and experience
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that my be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition ofForeign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
