As a Project Manager/PSL, with Octo, you will to support a multi-year, high-profile software development project supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Project Manager/PSL will work closely with a team of other project managers and engineers to support the growth of reliable, scalable, and high-performance SaaS and PaaS solutions for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This is a cross-functional role that will work closely with technical experts and business executives to define, execute, and deliver the product lifecycle.

Program Mission...

The Digital Transformation Center (DTC) supports Veterans Affairs (VA) with onboarding and maintaining enterprise SaaS and PaaS solutions used to support the mission of serving our Veterans and their associated stakeholders. We are digitizing information and processes for improved implementation, leveraging modern tools and low code/no code for reusability and faster delivery.

Skills & Requirements

Responsibilities...

  • Support a portfolio of SaaS and PaaS products throughout their respective lifecycles (acquisition, authorization, release, sustainment)
  • Manage the flow of work through the respective process lifecycles and project team throughput to maximize the capacity of projects that can be worked by the team
  • Leverage operations data to project forward capacity for existing work that can be completed and new work that can come into the project team, and communicate that information effectively to Department of Veterans Affairs stakeholders
  • Own the relationships with product stakeholders (e.g. product sponsor, product vendor, etc.)
  • Own the relationships with third party assessment teams, sponsoring agencies, and FedRAMP PMO for the products in the portfolio
  • Properly identify, remediate, communicate, or escalate technical and program risks
  • Gather and report both program and technical metrics
  • Work in fast-paced Agile development environment
  • Manage the project schedule, planning and tracking
  • Ensure appropriate project SMEs are engaged to maintain timeline
  • Provide project updates during team stand-ups
  • Work with federal stakeholder to move the SaaS/PaaS implementation through the VA process
  • Highlight potential blockers to the timely completion of all phase tasks

Requirements...

  • 3+ years of project support experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with project and program management methodology to include managing project schedules, timelines, and dashboards.
  • Superb soft skills including the ability to gain the trust of stakeholders and senior management and negotiate priorities with outside teams.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently under minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing requirements through prioritization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required OR 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively in dynamic team environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
  • Must be able to use a computer.
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.

Years of experience: 3+ years of project support experience.

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or technology or 8 years of relevant experience.

Location: Fully remote within the United States.

Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
