While reporting to the Manager-Industrial Carriers Technology, this position is to support the technology strategy as established by the Film Segment Team and Global Industrial Technology, for maintaining and growing our Film core market share and profitability in North America. The position will provide technical support to our internal and external customers for the Film segment and will manage projects (new product development, process improvement, productivity, etc.) for this segment.

What you'll be doing:

• Provide industry's best technical support for both our internal & external customers in the Film core segment.
• Manage new product developments and product improvement projects
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities within segment for Sonoco and for customers.
• Support the commercialization of new technologies and products/processes

• Provide troubleshooting for & optimizations of customer processes/applications
• Provide troubleshooting for & optimizations of internal Sonoco processes and products

• Provide product recommendations for customers' equipment & processes

• Assist sales in achieving the profitable growth of the Film Core Segment business.

• Provide Technical Training internally with commercial, technical, operations and quality associates and externally with customers as appropriate
• Maintain and expand knowledge of equipment and processes used in the Film industry.
• Promote company goodwill, develop and maintain proper relationships with customers and prospective customers

This position is located in Hartsville, SC.

• Chemical Engineering degree, Paper Science degree, Mechanical Engineering degree, Packaging Science degree or Mechanical Engineering degree
• Experience in film manufacturing or converting is a plus

Compensation:

Technical Engineer II: The annual base salary range for this role is from $72,975 to $87,570

Technical Engineer III: The annual base salary range for this role is from $94,275 to $113,130

Technical Engineer IV: The annual base salary range for this role is from $108,900 to $130,680
