Purpose of Position
The School of Computing and Analytics (SCA) at Northern Kentucky University invites applications for tenure-track positions in Computer Science and/or Software Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor. The school is actively seeking candidates who demonstrate a passion for both teaching and research, with particular interest in one or more of the following areas: computer science, software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, and a closely related area. All candidates should be excited about teaching and developing face-to-face and online classes while maintaining active scholarship in related fields. The anticipated start date for these positions is August 2024. Salary and benefits are competitive.

Primary Responsibilities
A typical teaching assignment is 3 courses per semester, including two courses at the upper level. Northern Kentucky University values quality teaching most of all, however, all faculty members are expected to be active scholars. The incorporation of undergraduate and graduate students into research is especially valued. The successful applicant is required to relocate to the Northern Kentucky area, fully engage on campus with students and colleagues, and actively participate to advance the mission of the university.

The School of Computing and Analytics is housed in the College of Informatics (http://informatics.nku.edu) which unites the School of Computing and Analytics and the School of Media and Communication to embrace the modern concept of information in all its aspects. The SCA is housed in a landmark high building, Griffin Hall, and offers multiple degrees and operates as a combination of three program clusters: computer science & software engineering, cybersecurity & information technology, and information systems & analytics. The SCA has over 1,000 students majoring in those areas at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Qualifications
Applicants for an Assistant Professor position must have a Ph.D. degree (or ABD) in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Data Science or a closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered, but with an expected completion date before August 2024.
