Job Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company is seeking a highly motivated Director, Human Resources at our Camden, AR facility. This position will be responsible for the strategic leadership of Human Resources activities to support business and organizational objectives for this Missile Solutions site located in the Highland Industrial Park in East Camden, AR. We are one of the largest employers in southern Arkansas, with current and planned growth in the next few years - demonstrating our commitment to the Golden Triangle geographic area.

Our growing Camden, AR site (inclusive of ~1100 employees) is a large solid rocket motor facility that supports our nation's most important next generation national security programs, hypersonics and missile defense targets. Camden is also where we produce solid rocket motors and warheads critical to the nation's defense.

Essential Functions

This leadership role will report to the Senior Director, Human Resources for the Missile Solutions (MS) sector.

Key Responsibilities:

    Partner directly with the Sr. Director / Site Leader and the Camden leadership team to deliver strategies to drive engagement, talent acquisition and development, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement in support of the annual operating plan (AOP).
  • Serve as a key member of the overall Missile Solutions (MS) sector HR team in the development and execution of HR strategic priorities and AOP.
  • Lead a team including HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and administrative support. Establish and execute the HR strategy, exercise thought leadership, exercise good judgment, make difficult decisions and guide the HRBP team to do the same.
  • Ensure the consistent and unbiased application of various HR processes and programs and their alignment with organizational needs and business priorities across the site.
  • Collaborate with sector leaders to create workforce and staffing plans to ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish business results.
  • Use metrics/analytics to drive performance. Champion employee engagement, retention and diversity and inclusion. Be an employee advocate.
  • Oversee all Talent Management activity including Staffing (in partnership with the centralized Center of Excellence), Performance Management and Employee Relations.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with leadership and employees and provide advice and counsel to both on employee-related and organizational matters.
  • Take ownership and exhibit leadership for various Human Resources projects and initiatives at the sector level.
  • Works closely with the segment HR team to collaborate on matters related to the overall segment HR strategy.
  • Drive L3Harris business operating system ("e3," L3Harris's continuous improvement operating model) principles and processes with a focus on increasing administrative excellence and process improvement across the business units and within the HR function.
  • Serve as advisor, mentor, and coach for leaders in support of achieving objectives.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in human resources with demonstrated ability support and influence senior executives.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • MBA or Master's Degree preferred.
  • Ability to expertly utilize MS Office software products like Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to analyze data and leverage that data to influence senior level customers and HR function.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering on HR metrics and reporting out on progress on regular basis.
  • Ability to influence, coach and consult with all levels of the organization in a positive and effective manner.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all Human Resources functions with a focus on retaining and developing talent.
  • Project management experience leading teams to address complex issues.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and to organize workload to assure that short timelines are met given frequent interruptions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative - has a track record on delivering commitments.
  • Adaptability, with the ability to successfully operate in a matrixed environment.

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
