As a Program Manager you'll provide oversight for a large desktop management and user support effort at a leading federal agency. This position will directly contribute to program efforts in several areas, including cost management/avoidance, schedule estimation and tracking, risk management, requirements analysis, personnel management, and quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical and managerial point of contact for the program.
  • Provide operational and tactical management and strategy for a large federal enterprise environment.
  • Oversee operational tasks to include contract deliverables, cost, and on-time-delivery to achieve key performance indicators, SLAs, and compliance.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring of staff, focusing on employee retention and performance.

Program Mission...

The program will provide desktop management and user support, to include computer systems, mobile devices, printers, and software, for several thousand staff across the Maryland Metro area and those working remotely.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

  • Related experience managing a large federal environment that security, infrastructure, and service delivery, with an operational perspective.
  • Experience supervising a cross-functional, matrixed team, including subcontractors. Deliver critical capabilities to the customer and manage personnel morale to ensure appropriate coverage and skills mix of delivery team.
  • Experience effectively managing schedule, performance, and customer satisfaction for a large services contract.
  • Applying knowledge of resource planning and execution processes to support customer program planning, decision briefings, and progress assessment.
  • A background coordinating with the customer organization to educate user/consumer community on service availability, service delivery processes, and capabilities.
  • Expertise delivering both oral and written communication to the highest levels of customer and company management.
  • Experience managing the relationship with the customer including senior level coordination and synchronization.
  • Experience in project management, budget, and forecasting toolsets.
  • Experience with leading ITIL standards and hold an ITIL Foundations certification (or obtain within the first 3 months of hire).

Desired:

  • Knowledge of industry best practices as articulated by, but not limited to, the PMI, Lean IT, Agile practices.

Years of Experience: 5 years of experience managing large desktop management and user support efforts (preferably for federal agency contracts).

Education: A BA/BS degree (with no degree, a total of 10 years' experience with large desktop management and user support efforts needed).

Certification(s): Certified Program Management Professional (PgMP), certified Project Management Professional (PMI), or equivalent certification/degree and ITIL Foundations certification within three months of hire.

Location: Rockville, MD Area.

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain an agency-level Public Trust clearance.
