Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for an Electronics Technician. The job location is at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD.

Scope of Performance: Perform electronic technician duties to include preparation of cost proposals, preparation of drawing packages, providing technical oversight of control systems, preparing start- up procedures, ensuring quality requirements are met, developing engineering solutions to problems, preparing specifications, and communicating project results to management and other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with industrial automation and control systems to support energetic and inert processes.
• Instrument calibration and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI).
• Work independently and with process engineers/technicians to support project start-up, project organization, loop-check, and planning for Preventative Maintenance (PM).
• Work along-side engineers for design and start-up procedures.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to participate and assist in planning and coordinating individual assignments to meet project goals.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Education and Experience - Required:

• Knowledge of techniques and theories of electronics.
• Knowledge and proficiency in PLC, HMI, and I/O buses.
• Knowledge of process equipment and industrial control systems.
• Ability or receive and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Ability to work in a production environment.
