Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC (ATS) is seeking a System Administrator to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). This position involves managing IT infrastructure, including servers and networks, implementing security measures, troubleshooting issues, automating tasks, and providing technical support while ensuring optimal performance and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and maintaining IT infrastructure.
• Configuring and overseeing operating systems and server hardware, ensuring security updates and user access controls, and managing network devices for optimal performance and security.
• Handle application, web, and database servers, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues while implementing security measures like firewalls and malware protection.
• Automation and scripting used to streamline tasks, and documentation maintained for configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
• Manage patch deployment, plan for disaster recovery, engage with vendors, and provide technical support to users.
• Staying updated on technology trends and sharing knowledge through training sessions.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in operating systems.
• Networking knowledge, routing, and firewall configuration.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms and cloud services.
• Scripting skills for automation and task scripting.
• Understanding of backup and recovery strategies and tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices and cybersecurity measures.
• Experience with configuration management tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance optimization.
• Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field OR 4 years experience in lieu of degree
