Logistics Specialist
Dahlgren, VA

Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC (ATS) is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). This role involves conducting life-cycle supportability analysis, reviewing logistics plans and procurement processes, and providing assistance in performance-based logistics business case analysis, including reviewing program documentation, recommending support objectives, identifying enablers/barriers, evaluating and recommending alternatives, and supporting requirements gathering and data tracking within specified timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Shall perform Life-Cycle supportability analysis; provide inputs and review Integrated Logistics Support Plans, provide Independent Logistics Assessments and recommend maintenance and support plans.
  • Shall review procurement and management processes of Life-Cycle logistics for support equipment, test equipment, technical orders/data, spares, training, supply support, manpower and personnel, facilities, packaging, storage, transportation, reliability, maintainability, availability, provisioning, shelf life, design interface and computer resources.
  • Shall support the performance based logistics (PBL) business case analysis as follows:

a. Review of program documentation

b. Baseline existing support concepts

c. Recommend support objectives and criteria

d. Identify PBL enablers and barriers (gap analysis)

e. Recommend support alternatives

f. Evaluate alternatives

g. Recommend preferred alternatives

h. Recommend the PBL strategy

  • Shall provide support for requirements gathering from technical teams, perform research, develop documentation for Government review/submission, enter data into system and track actions in accordance with applicable Department processing timelines. Shall receive and organize information of deliveries from these actions in accordance with applicable Department processing timelines. Shall populate and maintain acquisition database repositories to enable execution and tracking of actions throughout their respective life cycles in accordance with applicable Department processing timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of logistics principles, supply chain management, procurement strategies, and performance-based logistics concepts.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to optimize logistics operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation, tracking, and compliance with regulations.
  • Familiarity with logistics software, ERP systems, WMS, and Microsoft Office suite for data tracking and analysis.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving logistics challenges efficiently and effectively.
  • Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field OR 4 years experience in lieu of degree
