a.i solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support Missile Defense Agency mission and quality assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams, conducting quality and mission assurance evaluations and assessments for existing missile defense components and architectures. This person will provide technical expertise in Quality and Mission Assurance Management, by performing oversight of all lifecycle phases including requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic efforts. They will also be responsible for responding to requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic concerns and supporting design and failure review boards/ investigations, milestone reviews and aiding in the implementation of the quality assurance program. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise across the program acquisition life cycle in quality, mission assurance and manufacturing to the government for assigned MDA programs
  • Implement MDA quality and mission assurance requirements by providing subject matter expertise for the identification, evaluation and mitigation of risks associated with various aspects of the design, development, manufacturing, fielding and operation of MDA systems
  • The QS governing document to be implemented is the MDA Assurance Provisions (MAP). This document is a standardized set of 14 QSMA provisions, requirements, and processes that apply to mission and safety critical items. The MAP gives MDA the methodology to measure, confirm, and validate mission success through collection and analysis of metrics, risk assessment, technical evaluations, independent assessment, reviews, conducting tests, and promoting continuous process improvement to reduce cost, improve productivity, and institute QSMA.
  • Assist with review and assessment of hardware and software compliance with quality and related mission assurance requirements, including support of failure investigations, failure review boards, evaluations, audits, and assessments. Activities include determining root cause of failures of MDA hardware.
  • Provide technical and data management expertise for quality and mission assurance boards, working groups, and reviews to include (but not limited to) technical and mission reviews, pedigree reviews, first article inspections, and risk working groups.
  • Prepare draft documents, briefs, presentations, and actions items responses, which may include information papers.
  • Experience in Quality and in implementing quality practices and quality oversight.
  • Experience in assisting in the formulation of opinions, decisions for quality and mission assurance practices.
  • Experience in assessing advanced systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.

  • Travel periodically, approximately twice per year
  • Position is located at MDA facility on Dahlgren, VA with expectation to work onsite less than 4 days per month. Otherwise telework from home is authorized when not required to be onsite

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from a program that is ABET accredited as a professional engineering curriculum.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field
  • Security Clearance requirements: Must currently possess or be able to obtain a Secret clearance prior to start
