Position Summary

The maintenance worker is responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the entire facility including repairs and ensuring equipment is safe to operate at all times under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

Pay Rate

$16.00/hr. - $18.00/hr.

Essential Functions

Duties & Responsibilities: (not listed in order of priority)

  • Handles necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Installs equipment and appliances.
  • Follows local and state building codes.
  • Complies with all company safety regulations.
  • Keeps a maintenance log and writes shift reports.
  • Reports any issues to the maintenance manager.
  • Responds to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and tools into work vehicles if needed.
  • Follows written and verbal instructions from the maintenance manager.
  • Perform janitorial services when needed such as cleaning and restocking restrooms.
  • Strip, wax, and polish floors with floor machines
  • Collaborates with the maintenance team and contractors as needed.
  • Reads and follows manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions.
  • Uses equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.
  • Maintain the grounds of required gardening services
  • Check all program areas for potential health safety problems or violations.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Plumbing troubleshooting and repair with augers, drain snakes, and drain cleaners.
  • Install and repair toilets, sinks, faucets, and shower valves.
  • Perform drywall repairs and installation.

Working Conditions

Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Must be able to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Due to licensing requirements, must be fully vaccinated and have booster shot or accept booster shot within 15 days of eligibility. This position requires employee to be vaccinated from COVID-19.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the building maintenance field.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License.
  • Forklift Certification a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and Health Department Standards.
  • Experience working with the homeless population and persons with addiction/alcohol problems preferred, not mandatory.
  • CPR and First Aid certification a must.
  • TB-cleared prior to start date.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Communication skills both oral and written a plus
  • Ability to carry our assignments independently and good time management skills.
  • Abel to safely use manual and/or power tools.
  • Service minded and able to function in a multi-facility environment.
  • Ability to please orders and calculate inventories for production.
  • Must have strong sense of workplace ethics and understanding of confidentiality protocols.
  • Must be able to work any shift and a signed schedule.
Qualifications

Education
High School or Equivalent (required)

Experience
Experience Working With The Homeless Population and Persons With Addiction/Alcohol Problems. (preferred)
Forklift Certification. (preferred)
3 years: Minimum Experience In The Building Maintenance Field. (required)

Licenses & Certifications
Driver's License (required)
TB cleared certificate (required)
