The Nursing Supervisor assumes shift accountability for hospital operations and provides direction and assistance to the primary caregivers in patient - care areas.

• Acts as a clinical and administrative resource to staff.
• Coordinates and directs activities in emergency situations.
• Counsels and directs unit resource nurses and staff in provision of direct nursing care.
• Functions as a patient advocate. Investigates and resolves patient/customer and staff complaints. Seeks guidance as necessary.
