Overview

The RedHat SME will provide RedHat expertise, direction, and guidance to various support groups such as developers, engineers, administrators, testers, and stakeholders. They will also plan and lead major technology assignments to include evaluating performance results and recommend major changes, suggest measures for improvement in production software by integrating system processes and performing administration and security measures for authorization of system usage.

Responsibilities
    Understand Red Hat Certificate Systems and how it is utilized, patched, and secured in a DoD environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Directory Server, Red Hat Certificate System, Red Hat Directory Services, directory Access Control Lists, Directory synchronization tools, PKI, network communication, encryption to include Hardware Security Module (HSM), Extensible Markup Language, Java code development, X.500 directories, Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), HTTP Secure.
  • Must understand the DoD Certificate Practice Statement (CPS) and Registration Practice Statement (RPS) and requirements used for audit procedures.
  • Background in Thales (SafeNet) equipment and software as well as other HSM hardware vendors.
  • Familiar with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, Active Directory, Cisco IOS, F5 BigIP Local Traffic Management (LTM)/Global Traffic Management (GTM) iRules.
  • Have used Visio or other design tools to document layout of network and infrastructure for both training and knowledge transfer.
  • Review the Red Hat Certificate System source code, as released officially by Red Hat and as available from the Dogtag open-source project, for defects related to functionality and security.
  • Performed testing, debugging and documentation for new and existing systems.
  • Perform conceptual design, detailed design, code creating and debugging of critical IT programs/systems.
  • Support analysis, design, development, and implementation of databases along with the integration testing of programs within systems/subsystems.
  • Reviews and understands specifications documentation to develop and modify operating software programming applications.
  • Assist in the analysis of system architecture requirements, perform requirements acquisitions and definition and data analysis, and customize purchased applications.
  • Perform technical and subject matter research on emerging technologies to determine impacts on application executions and perform system modeling
  • Write, modify, and maintain technical documentation and specifications
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Must have one of the following: IAT Level III- CASP CE (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner); CCNP Security (Cisco Certified Network Professional); CISA- Certified Information Systems Auditor); CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional); GCED or GCIH Certification
  • Certifications: Red Hat Certified Engineer or Red Hat Certified Architect
  • Active DoD SeMinimum of 10 years' experience in Information Technology (IT) and/or Information Security (IS)
  • Must have experience with hands on technical expertise in Directory Access Control Lists, Directory synchronization tools, PKI, network communication, encryption to include Hardware Security Module (HSM), Extensible markup Language, Java code development, X.500 directories, Hypertext Transfer protocol (HTTP), HTTP Secure, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, Active Directory, Cisco IOS, F5 BigIP Local Traffic Management (LTM)/Global Traffic Management (GTM) iRules
  • Must maintain technical expertise in the following tools & with its associated database and connections:
    • RH Enterprise Linux
    • Certificate Systems (RHCS)
    • RH Certificate Server (CS)
    • RH Directory Server (DS)
    • RH Directory Services
    • Key Digital Rights Management (DRM)
    • Token Processing System (TPS)
    • Token Key Service (TKS)cret Clearance
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline
