Job Description

Inova's LJ Murphy Children's Hospital is looking for a dedicated experienced RN interested in a leadership position to join their Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care team as a Unit Supervisor.

At Inova, the Pediatric Cardiac ICU serves the needs of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents who require specialized heart care. This specialized unit is staffed by highly skilled nurses and a team of intensivists from multiple subspecialties, including anesthesiology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric heart surgery, neonatology (newborn care), cardiac critical care, and pulmonology (lung care) and. The unit is expanding to include transplant and device management.

Two years PICU/PCICU or ICU experience with pediatric cardiac experienced strongly preferred.

Schedule: Full Time (3-12-hour shifts)- Night shift (7p-7a)

Candidates are eligible to receive up to $20,000 as a competitive sign on bonus. Those relocating from more than 50 miles away may also receive relocation assistance.

Requirements
* At least one year of Registered Nurse Clinical experience specific to the focus of nursing unit (PICU/PCICU). More than two years of experience preferred.
* BSN, MSN or ADN required. If RN has an ADN, must be within one year of completing BSN.
* Completion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 90 days
* Certification BLS required. Specialty certification within one year of hire
* Licensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention. Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations
* Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required
* Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization. Can serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit.
