Job Description

Wanted:An experiencedDB2DBAwith demonstratedexperience in administering, testing, and implementingcomputer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Coordinate changes to computer databases.Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.Preference given to candidates with database administration expertise supporting large, high performance, high availability mission-critical systems.

A week in the life of aDB2DBA:

  • Provide database design, and subsequent implementations and support for high performance, highly available (24x7) and scalable database application systems.
  • Design, develop and manage large, high performance, high availability DB2 database systems.
  • Provide DBA support on mainframe DB2 environment across Development, Test, Integration, UAT and Production DB2 (4-Way DB2 Data sharing) environment.
  • Manage and provide database development, implementation, and operational support.
  • Database Reporting lead for data warehouse applications supporting Federal projects.
  • Serve as a technical lead and SME related to mainframe and DB2-related topics.
  • Provide DBA support covering on-call for various applications.
  • Involve in DB2 upgrade from V10 to V11.
  • Builddata flow and business models to translate user requirements into various functional specifications.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Job Requirements
  • Required: a minimum of10 yearsof recent and relevantexperience.
  • Required certification: IBM Certified Database Administrator.
  • Preferred education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology management or a related field.
  • Domain expertise:Database,Compute, Security tools,Monitoring,OS.
  • Technical skills:DB2 utilities: Load, Check, Copy,Runstats, Recover, Reorg, Quiesce, Report, Modify and Restore, BMC Reorg, CA Log analyzer, DSN1COPY;RDBMS: IBM's DB2,IMS,SQLServer, Oracleand UDB, IBMs S/390, IBMs ES/9000, and IBM PC compatibles,RACF, Subsystem Analyzer, Detector,Omegamon, Insight,z/OS, Windows, Unix.
  • Otherpreferred certifications:IBM Certified DB2 DB Administration,IBM DB2 Performance Tuning,UDB DBA for Unix, Windows, OS/2,ITIL Foundation.
  • Previous Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel clearance preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience with and knowledge of TSA's mission priorities, systems, and applications preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to coordinate across large groups of people at multiple levels.
