Job Description

Quality Assurance (QA) Lead is a key role from Quality Team mainly responsible for overall Omaha site Quality Management System (QMS) with major focus on site’s RI Management and for implementing best Quality Excellence practices to manage and control all Quality Incidents on Omaha site working with Omaha Productions Team. This QA Lead role would have more emphasis on supporting site operations Team with all aspects of RI Management Quality systems by providing expertise and utilizing various QMS tools (e.g. ISO 9001, RCA, A3, QRA, FMEA, QA Audits) and directly interacting with Omaha Operation/Planning and Logistics team and seeking valuable support from Regional Quality Team leaders. Overal QA Lead role would ensure Omaha formulations meets all QA specifications and without any Quality cross-contamination before shipping out to our customers. This position will require a strong desire to develop into a leadership position as majority of the time RI/QA management Lead responsibilities includes working with Syngenta (on-site and off-site) Leadership Team with cross-functional projects.

Accountabilities:
  • Serves as an active Quality liaison to provide accurate, useful, on-time RI and QA assessment to Omaha Operation team (Production/Planning/Logistics) to ensure Quality product specifications are met and avoid any Quality cross-contaminations (RI and QI). 
  • Works with Operation/Planning/Logistics and QA/QC team with major focus on promoting best RI practices throughout Omaha production site contractors as required.
  • Provide and implement RI Management Improvement plans throughout Omaha site.
  • Provides skills and training required for RI and QA to all Omaha personnel to support Site RI best practices and to ensure their knowledge of Quality Excellence will meet the Omaha business needs and goals.
  • Coordinate and Improve Ways of Working (WoW) with all Omaha Team to assure best RI practices are followed throughout the Omaha plant, as One Team, One Plan.
  • Encourage and promote opportunities for Operational and Quality Excellence improvements and advise Omaha Leadership team of approach in order to realize identified changes and improvements with more emphasis to avoid Quality cross-contamination (RI and QI).
  • Responsible for establishing and reviewing documents related to Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with Syngenta Regional and Global Quality code of practice (CoP).
  • Works with Omaha Quality and Operation Team to report and improve RI best practices and production Right First Time (RFT) as Omaha site’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of QMS tools and present Quality performance documents to Senior Leadership Teams and cross-functional Team at various Syngenta sites (including tollers).
  • Assist and assume responsibility for resources allocated by site Quality Manager working with Omaha Leadership Team with any assigned administrative Quality tasks.
  • As needed, train and act as a backup to QA Specialist role in Omaha Quality team and work with Syngenta Regional/Global Quality Team, Omaha Leadership Team.

Qualifications
 
  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry preferred and with 3-5+ years relevant QA experience or Associates Degree with 8-10+ years relevant RI and QA experience.
  • Proven Excellence in Quality certifications (e.g. ASQ, 6 Sigma) and working knowledge in Lean manufacturing process using OpEx tools (A3, RCA, QRA, PRA, 5Whys etc.).
  • Must possess strong understanding of standard QA/RI/QC practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Good working knowledge of Quality Compliance in production/Chemical environments.
