Seeking a Research Associate who is creative, enthusiastic, and motivated for the Mulvaney lab at the Children's National Research and Innovation Center in Washington, DC. The lab will be primarily affiliated with Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) in the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and jointly be members of the Children's National Hospital Cancer and Immunobiology program. The lab's work focuses on signaling pathways in pediatric and adult cancers-with a particular emphasis on therapeutically targeting enzyme vulnerabilities. Available projects include structurally and biochemically identifying mechanisms of substrate recruitment to methyltransferases, such as PRMT5, and CRISPR screening for combination drug treatments for various tumor types. With the guidance of the PI, this position will take a lead role in the design of experiment methodology and methods for analyzing the results of experiments in the various types of tumors. They will also train new lab members in appropriate methodology and laboratory technique as needed as well as be knowledgeable about all equipment and resources within the lab. They will be expected to collaboratively work within the lab and also with external collaborators to the lab.

Additional duties will include:
* Monitoring supply inventory and ordering
* Preparation and maintenance of protocols and regulations

Required Qualifications

* Master's degree in Biology or Biochemistry related field with equitable laboratory experience.
* Experience working both independently and collaboratively.
* Effective project and time management.
* Effective organizational skills.
* Demonstrated ability to document protocols, techniques, and maintain inventories.
* Extensive expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry.
* Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
